Patellar tracking disorders occur when the kneecap shifts out of place as the leg bends or straightens.  The kneecap can shift or rotate off track if the groove is too shallow or if the cartilage is damaged.  Also, when ligaments, tendons, or muscles that are too loose or too tight.

SIGN & SYMPTOMS

Pain and discomfort are associated with patellar tracking disorders.  The individual may also feel a popping, grinding, slipping or catching of the kneecap with bending and straightening of the leg.
