INJURY
Cold Therapy (noun): The RICE technique (Rest, Icing, Compression and Elevation) is a beneficial first aid method that should be applied promptly after injury.
SIGN & SYMPTOMS
REST - Rest after any type of injury is very important in the healing process.
ICE - Applying ice to the affected area will help to decrease pain and swelling.
COMPRESSION - Placing and maintaining compression over the injured site will help decrease bruising and swell to the affected area.
ELEVATION - After an injury occurs, the injured body part should be elevated as much as possible during the first 72 hours to help decrease bruising and swelling.
